A question on her firang twang upsets Katrina Kaif. But looking stunning in a pale pink suit, she is back to her composed self within seconds and reveals that this is her first visit to Lucknow.
Here is the Rajneeti actor, who was on a whistle stop tour to the city to promote the Prakash Jha flick, in an exclusive talk with HT City:
Have Hindi classes really helped you? How fluent are you in Hindi now?
I really don’t know why this hue and cry about my Hindi. I have already done 13 films in Bollywood and none of them were in English.
How difficult was doing a politico’s role in Rajneeti?
I have given my best in Rajneeti. Moreover, everybody got the role that best suited them.
Doesn’t the film show your leaning towards politics?
The movie is not just about politics. It’s much more beyond that…love, passion, jealousy.
You have always preferred fun movies. Why such a serious movie all of sudden?
The movie is different and that’s what interested me. I wasn’t interested in its politics part.
Could you get time to taste Lucknow’s food?
I had heard so much about Lucknawi biryani. Hotel mein manga ke khaya. Loved it.

Epic inspiration
As Prakash Jha confirms, characters in Rajneeti are inspired by the Mahabharat. Ajay Devgan is Karn, Manoj Bajpai – Duryodhan, Ranbeer – Arjun and Katrina plays Draupadi.
